JBR is just two brothers, a handful of cousins, and a little stretch of sand in Jimbaran Bay. We started teaching here years ago because the wave is exactly right for learning — sandy bottom, mellow shoulders, no rocks, no ego. It still is.
If you've never surfed before, that's the whole reason we exist. We hand you a soft-top, walk you through the pop-up, paddle you out, and stay with you until you stand up. Then we cheer like idiots.
If you've surfed before, Wayan can point you at the better peaks down the bay — or just let you borrow a board.

Every lesson is taught by someone who grew up in Jimbaran. No franchise vibes, no rotating Instagram interns.
First-timers get the sandbar. Keen surfers get pointed at the better peaks down the bay.
Lesson, dry off, walk two doors to the warung. That's the Jimbaran rhythm — we don't fight it.

Statistically, no. The bay here is one of the gentlest beginner waves on the island — sandy bottom, no reef, no boats in the lineup. We've taught seven-year-olds and seventy-year-olds in the same week.
WhatsApp is fastest. Tell us how many people, what kind of lesson, and what day works — we'll sort the rest. Walk-ins are also welcome if you're already on the beach.
Swimsuit, sunscreen (reef-safe please), water, and a towel. We provide the board, the rashie, and the patient encouragement. Leave your phone with us if you want — we'll keep an eye on it.
Yep. SUP from age 3, bodyboarding from age 4, soft-top surfing from age 5 — depending on swimming confidence. We go slow, we keep it fun, and we don't push.
Honestly, anytime. April–October has cleaner conditions, but the bay works year-round and we run lessons every day. Mornings (around 7–9am) are usually glassiest.
Look for the hand-painted JBR price-board on the sand at Jimbaran Beach (Jl. Bukit Permai No.5A). If we're not there, we're somewhere along the bay — message us and we'll meet you.
